PitchHook for Upwork ("the extension") does not operate any server and does not collect, store, or have access to any user data itself.
Your chosen AI provider, model name, API key, background/bio text, and
a count of free hooks used. These are stored only in your browser via
chrome.storage.local and are never transmitted to the
extension developer.
When you click "Draft Hook," the job title and description from the Upwork page you're viewing, along with your bio text, are sent directly from your browser to the AI provider you selected (Anthropic or OpenAI), authenticated with your own API key. This request goes straight to that provider — it does not pass through any server operated by the extension developer. Handling of that data by Anthropic or OpenAI is governed by their own privacy policies.
The extension uses ExtensionPay to track a free-hook limit and handle upgrades. Payment/checkout is handled entirely on ExtensionPay's and Stripe's own pages; the extension never sees or stores your payment details.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
